April Update From Hadassah President

Dear Friends,

Young Judaea’s Year Course began taking high school graduates to Israel in 1956, a good decade before gap year abroad programs started attracting large numbers of American students. The main ingredients of successful programs–experiencing another culture, learning a language, personal independence, making lifelong friends and having fun–were all part of Year Course from the beginning.

More than 50 years later, Year Course is more dynamic than ever, and I recently spoke with Adam Jenshil, the program’s new director, in Jerusalem. As you’ll see from our conversation in my latest podcast, this learn-volunteer-travel experience continues to offer all the advantages of the best study-abroad programs plus one–a virtual guarantee of Jewish continuity for the participants.

I hope you are regularly checking our website, www.hadassah.org, for the latest Hadassah news. And please remember to suggest to your friends that they do the same.
